Herlinger v. Sunbeam

The Mills Law Firm served as lead counsel in this Private Attorney General action seeking to enjoin alleged unsafe business practices by the manufacturers of propane-powered barbecue grills. Despite nationwide opposition from over a dozen law firms, an overall settlement was achieved in July 1995 whereby the major manufacturers of propane grills and cylinders, and the nation's leading retailer of cylinders and grills agreed to implement comprehensive, industry-wide ameliorative actions, including warnings to consumers, design changes, and implementation of stop-fill safety technology.
